High Velocity Oxy Fuel (HVOF) coatings have been used for over forty years across many industrial sectors to create very hard, dense coatings with low compressive strengths and offer an alternative to hard chrome plating. Tungsten Carbides are the most popular HVOF spray within the Oil and Gas industry offering excellent wear and corrosion resistance.
Flame Spraying is the original thermal coating process, using an oxy-acetylene flame to apply molten metal onto the substrate. Typical flame spray applications include corrosion protection, repairs, abradable linings and sacrificial linings.
Plasma spraying has the ability to apply almost any type of coating including pure metal, ceramic and composite powder inputs due to the high temperatures generated by a plasma spray gun.
Wire-Arc coatings are generally the best option for thicker build ups of corrosion protection and bond coats such as Aluminium or Zinc thermal sprays. With high spray rates and low running costs, wire-arc coatings can be very cost effective. The wire-arc process is also used to apply Thermal Spray Aluminium (TSA) which offers excellent corrosion resistance properties
InnerArmor® utilises Hollow Cathode Plasma Immersion Ion Processing (HCIIP) to apply a diamond like coating to interior surfaces. Licensed from Sub-One, California, ACI Ltd operates two InnerArmor® machines with a 10ft length capacity. InnerArmor® Minimises friction, wear, erosion and fouling, reducing maintenance costs for your business.
Our machine shop is fully equipped with Lathes, Cylindrical Grinders, Surface Grinders, lapping tables and ultrasonic cleaning to complement the thermal spraying activities. Please see below an outline of ACI®'s machining capacities, we also have access to a full range of larger machines.
